Doyle's equipment consists of 2 Canon EOS bodies, an A2E and a 650, as well as numerous lenses such as the 14mm, 20-35, 35-135, 80-200, 300, and 400. The use of the lenses of course depends on who and what the assignment is.
Most civilian air to air photo flights usually require a longer lense, such as the 300mm and the 80-200. The military flights, where the action is always very close, a 18-35mm and a 35-135 are the most common. Because it is sometimes difficult to manoeuvre quickly in formation, the zoom lense is perfectly suited for this role, getting in where the action is. Doyle also uses the Ken-Lab Gyro stabilizers, to get a much smoother chance to take crisp photos.
